TRADING

How do I use the Trade Simulator?
Select the Trade icon (Adjacent up/down arrows icon) near the right edge of the Toolbar
GreenChart's Trade Simulator utilizes live or historical market data to place orders in multiple markets. All data is actual, only monetary values are simulated.

Simple mode
focuses on the basics of trading with auto entry and preset adjustable values for Stop Loss, Take Profit and Lot Size. You may adjust your Stop Loss and you may manually exit a positions. You may have up to 10 open positions.

Advanced mode (Coming 2022) simulates most facets of funded account trading including Commissions, Spreads (Bid/Ask) and Swap Fees.
Account Balance, Equity, Margin, Free Margin and Margin Level also apply.

Replay mode
allows you to test a strategy with actual historical market data in any date range within the past 2-5 years.


REPLAY

How do I Replay?
Select the Replay button in the Toolbar ( Circular arrow around play icon).
GreenChart's Trade Simulator utilizes live or historical market data.
You may also choose to backtest trades in the Trade Simulator.

Replay Walkthrough
Go to Candle - Use the first tool to physically drag the red Timeline to a candle from earlier in the current trade session. Use the Date and Time pickers to select a date and time not currently visible in your charts.
Date Picker - Enter a specific date or select the calendar icon to choose a date from the calendar date picker.
Time Picker - Enter a specific time or select the clock icon to choose a time from the clock picker.
Go Arrow - Initiates Replay Session, loading the requested date and time in your charts.
Play/Pause - Start or pause playback
Speed - Select and adjust speed at which new candles are posted
Next/Previous - Select to manually advance to next or previous candle.
Close - Select to end your Replay Session.
NOTE: All orders made in in Replay mode will remain saved and are exportable unless Trade Simulator is Reset.


BACKTESTING


How do I Backtest?
Place orders using GreenChart's Trade Simulator while in Replay mode.
Export your results to a .CSV file that can be opened in any spreadsheet application.
See the Trade Simulator section below for details.

Why do USOIL prices differ elsewhere?

Pricing for U.S. Oil symbols between platforms are often different as they are subject to fluctuation depending on where and how they are procured and how they are transported. There are two major U.S. oil sources: "West Texas" procured in West Texas and "Brent Crude" procured in the North Sea between the Shetland Islands and Norway by U.S. suppliers. Both are commonly referred to as "OIL"or "USOIL".

How do I use the tools?
Selecting - Left Click
Editing - Right Click
Locking - Select the Lock icon to keep the current tool active until a different item is selected.
Favoriting/Arranging - Right Click, select '+' icon to add to center of Toolbar
To arrange your Favorite tools. simply select the tool you'd like to move and drag.
Esc Key - Clear current tool and revert to standard cursor.

How do I use the Trade Ratio tool?
Click, then move your cursor (do not drag). Trade Ratio comes preset with a Take Profit and Stop Loss. You can right-click to edit the presets or add additional ratios. Be sure to save each version to your Favorite tools.

How do I enable/disable Dark Mode?
Settings > Mode > Dark/Light

What are the Standard Drawing Tools?
Measure - Measure the price differnce between candles and movements
Line - Draw a Line
Channel - Draw a Channel
Doodle - Freeform Drawing
Trade Ratio - Automatically places pre-saved Order, TP and SL lines

Segment - Draw a lines that do not extend beyond beginning or end points

SETTINGS


How do I add or remove multiple chart attributes?
Control-Select only the charts you wish to update, then make changes. Or,
select the 'Sync' checboxes under Settings next to the attributes you wish to apply to all charts in your Layout simultaneously.


TRADE SIMULATOR


How do I use the Trade Simulator?
Select the Trade icon (up/down arrows) on the right side of the Toolbar to hide and show the Trade Simulator. Review the agreement and select 'I Agree'.

1.
Currency Pair - Select your Symbol/Pair (Live price is displayed)

2. Stop Loss - Use the preset or create your own. Adjust value by selecting the current value and typing in the field or selecting the up/down arrows.

3. Take Profit - Use the preset or create your own. Adjust value by selecting the current value and typing in the field or selecting the up/down arrows.

4. Lot Size - Use the preset value or select your own by selecting the field and choosing a value (1-10) in the dropdown menu.

5. Use the 'BUY' and 'SELL' buttons to place up to 10 open (active) orders.

6. Profit/Loss - The large Profit/Loss window dynamically displays your current balance in real time and will fluctuate based on the position of your open orders.

7. Share - See "How do I Share my Trade History?" section below for additional details.

8. Settings - In the right side of the Profit Loss window is the Settings (gear) icon. In Settings you may do the following:
• Reset - Resetting the Trade Simulator does three things: 1. Returns Stop Loss, Take Profit and Lot Size to their standard presets; 2. Removes all Open, Closed and Replay orders; 3. Resets your Profit/Loss Balance to zero.
• Download Closed Trades - Download a .CSV file of your current Trade session.
• Download Replay Trades - Download a .CSV file of your current Replay session.

• View Trade History Captures - View, share and delete a gallery of all captures.
Orders Tabs
• Open - View basic details of all open orders. (Select any order to view additional details or adjust the SL/TP.
• Closed - View basic details of all closed orders. Select any order to view additional details. Select 'View' to view it in Replay Mode.
• Replay - View all closed Replay orders. Select any order to view details. Select 'View' to view it in Replay Mode.

Total trades and win percentage are displayed at the bottom of each orders list

How do I resize the Trade Simulator?
PC/Chrome:
1. Select anywhere in the Trade Simulator area
2. Hold down Control key
3. Scroll your mouse wheel up or down

4. Select broswer SettingsZoom

1. Select anywhere in the Trade Simulator area

How do I download and view my Trade History?
Download your Trade History .CSV file with GreenChart's Trading Simulator.
.CSV  or Comma Space Value, is the generic file format that can be opened with any spreadsheet software:

1. Select the Settings (Gear) icon in the right side of the Trade Simulator's Profit/Loss window.
2. Select Download Replay Trades or Download Closed Trades.
3. Your download will begin. Progress may be displayed in your browser's footer.
Find the .CSV file in your Downloads folder. It is appended with 'TH' for 'Trading History' and followed by the date and time you downloaded it. Example: TH_7_4_2022_10_40_59 AM.csv
4. In the menu of your preferred Spreadsheet software, select File > Open and choose your desired .CSV file.

How do I Share my Trade History?
You may download your Trade History .CSV file with GreenChart's Trading Simulator. You may also share a screenshot image of your last five trades by selecting the 'SHARE' button in the Trade Simulator. This will show you an image of your last five trades. Select 'SHARE' again and your images will be placed in your Share Gallery, where you may view, share or delete your images.

How do I clear browser CACHE?
Chrome
1.
Select Settings icon (3 stacked dots) in top right corner of the browser
2. Select More tools > Clear browsing data (Alternatively, select Shift+Command+Delete) 3. The Clear Browsing data modal (pop-up) appears
4. Select a time range from the dropdown menu. To delete everything, select All time.
5. Check the boxes next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
6. Select Clear data button.

Edge
1. Select Settings icon '…' (3 dots) in top right corner of the browser)
2. Select Privacy, Search, and Services.
3. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear button.

How do I use GreenChart with a VPN?
GreenChart streams live quote data for each symbol you are charting.
Your VPN must allow GreenChart to stream data. To do this, add GreenChart's web address to your VPNs 'Allowed' or "White"(URLs) list.You can copy GreenChart's URL from your browser's address bar.
Potential workaround: Start up GreenChart prior to connecting your VPN.
